Marie Casey – Quality/Operations Leader and Certified Black Belt

Marie Casey is a seasoned quality and operations leader with over 30 years of international experience across the US, Europe and Asia. A graduate of the University of Limerick, Ireland, in Manufacturing Technology, Marie has built a distinguished career driving operational excellence in manufacturing, quality, and global supply chain management.

Marie began her career in quality at Bausch & Lomb in Ireland, later expanding her expertise in the OEM automotive sector in the UK, Ireland, and across Europe, supplying major clients such as Mercedes, Volkswagen, and Volvo. In her role as Quality Manager, she played a pivotal role in implementing IATF 16949 standards at European manufacturing sites.

Her experience also includes contract manufacturing in the electronics industry, managing the entire supply chain from manufacturing to KANBAN service for leading technology clients like Dell and Sensormatic. Developing the global quality strategy as part of the global business model for all global manufacturing sites. She advanced into operations management as Plant Manager and has managed global supply chains including operations in China and Malaysia.

Since relocating to Boston in 2001, Marie has provided consultancy services, guiding
companies to ISO 9001 certification and supporting both internal and external audits. She specializes in designing and implementing Quality Management Systems compliant with ISO9001:2015 standards and has maintained a spotless audit record with registrars of zero non-conformances for 20 years.

Marie’s journey in tape manufacturing began in 2004 as Quality Manager with Venture Tape, continued with 3M as part of their acquisition in 2008 until May 2023. A certified Black Belt, Marie is an expert in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement. She leads continuous improvement initiatives, facilitates Kaizen workshops, conducts SWOT analyses and project brainstorming sessions to drive operational excellence. Marie is recognized for her servant leadership style and multi-dimensional senior leadership experience in manufacturing, quality, and global supply chain. She is an articulate communicator, practiced influencer, and complex problem-solver skilled in developing proposals and managing projects. Marie is passionate about coaching and mentoring teams, fostering a culture of growth and efficiency, and delivering operational excellence. She partners with businesses to revitalize processes, enhance quality, and drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma tools.
